RALEIGH, NC. -It may be NASCAR Day at PNC Arena, but it appears that it is also going to be a Marty Party as well.
For the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on December 4 against the Ottawa Senators, it looks like Jordan Martinook will return to the lineup. At Friday afternoon's practice he was in the mix as a regular alongside Nino Niederreiter and Jesperi Kotkaniemi and this morning Rod Brind'Amour said that the alternate captain will take warmup and as long as he is 100%, he'll be in. Brind'Amour also said that Frederik Andersen will start today's game in net. Jaccob Slavin (COVID Protocol) and Antti Raanta (upper-body injury) will not be available again today. The projected lineup, which is combination of today's news with the cast that was skated at yesterday's practice, is: Forwards: Teravainen - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Trocheck - Necas Lorentz - Staal - Fast Niederreiter - Kotkaniemi - Martinook/Stepan Defensemen: Skjei - Pesce Cole - DeAngelo Smith - Bear Starting Goalie: Andersen Injuries: Antti Raanta COVID-19 Protocol: Jaccob Slavin Scratches: TBD Note: Lineup subject to change prior to opening faceoff Worth A Click: Canes NASCAR Day Info Sin City Bound: Canes React To All-Star Selections
